ΣΥΝΤΟΜΟ ΒΙΟΓΡΑΦΙΚΟ

Η Δέσποινα Σταματοπούλου είναι Αναπληρώτρια Καθηγήτρια στην Ψυχολογία (Ph.D., Bristol University, UK.), στο Τμήμα Φιλοσοφικών και Κοινωνικών Σπουδών, του Πανεπιστημίου Κρήτης. Νωρίτερα είχε εργαστεί ως ερευνητικός βοηθός στo Πανεπιστήμιο του Bristol, UK (1994-1995), στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Θεσσαλίας (1997-1998) και Κρήτης (1998-2000) με σύμβαση. Από το 2000 μέχρι σήμερα είναι μέλος ΔΕΠ του Πανεπιστήμιο Κρήτης. Τα ερευνητικά ενδιαφέροντά της αφορούν την Ψυχολογία της Αισθητικής και της Δημιουργικότητας και στρέφονται κυρίως γύρω από την μελέτη των συμβολικών λειτουργιών και της φαντασίας (π.χ., οπτική μεταφορά, συμβολική κατανόηση των εικόνων, κατασκευή οπτικού συμβόλου) και της συγκρότησης της αισθητικής εμπειρίας. Εστιάζουν ακόμη στην μελέτη της αντιληπτικής και συναισθηματικής εμπειρίας, όσο και στην μελέτη της συγκρότησης εαυτού-ταυτότητας, αναπτυξιακά αλλά και συγκριτικά (πχ., δια-πολιτισμικά). Αντίστοιχα και στο πλαίσιο της ψυχολογίας των συναισθημάτων και του εαυτού τα ερευνητικά της ενδιαφέροντα εστιάζονται στην μελέτη των συναισθημάτων αυτών που απαιτούν την συναίσθηση του εαυτού (self-conscious emotions).
